Robert Smith
Robert Frederick Smith, an American businessman, investor, and philanthropist, was born on December 1, 1962, in Denver, Colorado, USA. He grew up in a predominantly African-American, middle-class neighborhood in Denver. Smith attended Carson Elementary School and later graduated from East High School, where he was a standout student and earned the title of "Most Outstanding Business Student."
Smith pursued his higher education at Cornell University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He was an active participant in campus activities, including serving as the president of the Black Students Union. Smith also showed early entrepreneurial spirit by starting his own business and selling computer parts to fellow students.
Following his undergraduate studies, Smith continued his education at Columbia Business School, where he earned his MBA. His time at Columbia further honed his business acumen and provided him with the skills necessary for a successful career in finance and investment.
